Winnie Hickman Smith, 88, of Clarendon went to be with her Lord and Savior on Thursday, July 7, 2022.

Winnie was born on October 21, 1934 in Blackton, Arkansas to the late Holly and Elvie Hickman, the eighth of their eleven children.  She attended school at Pine Ridge School and began her working career at Briarwood Shoe Factory.

The day after her 17 ^th birthday, Winnie married the love of her life, J.W. "Dub" Smith after a three year courtship.  Dub and Winnie were joined by a son and a daughter, making their family complete.

When she wasn't busy working and raising her family, she enjoyed gardening, flowers, cooking, housekeeping, and canning.

Winnie is survived by her loving husband of 69 years, Dub Smith; son, Marty Smith (Tracy) of DeValls Bluff; daughter, Dianna Malone of Clarendon; six grandchildren, Richie Malone, James Malone, Michelle Burtram, Jordan Smith, Caleb Smith and Kayli Smith; seven great-grandchildren; and a sister, Minnie Hudson of Little Rock.

She was preceded in death by her parents; seven brothers, Albert, Thomas, Earl, Merle, Holly, James and Ray Hickman; and three sisters, Velmer Hickman Davis, Winona Barnes and Juanita Lockridge.

A funeral service for Winnie Smith will be held at 11:00 a.m., Monday, July 11, 2022 at the funeral home.  Visitation will begin one hour prior to the service.  Burial will be at Shady Grove Cemetery in Clarendon.  Brother Rick Glover will officiate.

Pallbearers are Chris Wilkerson, Marty Walker, Richie Malone, Jordan Smith, Caleb Smith and James Malone.
