William Donald Griner Jr. passed away on December 20, 2023, at the age of 72. He was born on August 18, 1951, to William and Evelyn Griner Sr. in Stuttgart, Arkansas. At the time of his birth the family made their home in Forrest City. Don was one of two children and shared childhood memories along with his sister, Evelyn. In 1970 he became a graduate of Brinkley high school and enlisted with the National Guard, serving a total of four years.
On January 9, 1972, Don married Linda Cook. They made their home in different areas including Brinkley, before moving to Searcy where they remained. They shared the joys of raising two sons, and in time celebrated the addition of spouses, grandchildren, and great grandchildren.
Throughout his career, Don loved working with the public. While living in Brinkley, he welcomed the local patrons at the AG Supermarket for many years. He was also well known in the community as the manager of the Brinkley Kroger Store and for a time, managed the Memphis store . He was active in the community as a member of the Kiwanis Club and enjoyed golfing with family and friends at the Brinkley Country Club. Like most men who grew up in the delta, Don liked to take advantage of other outdoor activities and enjoyed the sports of fishing and hunting.
