Obituary

William Wayne Beadles Sr., (91), a beloved father, husband, and grandfather, passed away peacefully on January 24, 2026, at White County Medical Center in Searcy, Arkansas. Born on December 23, 1934, in Blackton, Arkansas, to W. L. "Bill" and Hettie Brown Beadles, Wayne led a life full of love for his family, and community.

Wayne's pursuit of knowledge was evident throughout his life. He received his early education in Blackton and graduated from Holly Grove High School in 1952, before attending Arkansas State Teachers College. Upon completing his degree, Wayne coached and taught at Holly Grove Public Schools for two years before joining Clarendon Public Schools. He left an indelible mark on the lives of countless students as a dedicated teacher and coach.

In later years, Wayne transitioned into farming, cultivating not only crops but also deep connections with his community. His dedication was evident through his involvement in a variety of organizations. These included the Lions Club, Masonic Lodge as a 32nd-Degree Mason, and the Pines Country Club, where he was President. His leadership spanned the Tri County Farmers Co-op, Monroe County Conservation District, Riceland Foods, East Monroe County Water Users Association, Woodruff Electric Co-op, Today's Power, ERMCO, Federated Electric Insurance, Arkansas Electric Co-op, and the National Rural Electric Cooperative Association, where his contributions earned him numerous awards and achievements. Other achievements included being inducted into the Arkansas Athletic Track and Field Hall of Fame, UCA Track and Field Hall of Fame and receiving the  Arkansas Pioneer Wall of Fame Award from AECC.

Wayne's energetic spirit extended beyond his work and community service. His hobbies ranged from bicycling, reading, hunting, golfing, to exploring new places through travel.

As a steadfast man of faith, Wayne has been a member of the Clarendon Church of Christ for 70 years. His faith was an integral part of his life, and he found comfort in sharing his spiritual journey with his loved ones and church family.

In his life of service, Wayne left an enduring legacy that will continue to inspire those who had the privilege of knowing him. He is preceded in death by his parents, William and Hettie Brown Beadles.

Wayne is survived by his loving wife of over 69 years, Margaret Wilson Beadles, his son W. Wayne Beadles Jr. and wife Sheila of Clarendon, his daughter Kimberly of Fayetteville, Arkansas, and one grandchild Emily.
