Obituary

Wanda Foster Harrell began life's journey on January 4, 1944. At the time of her birth, George Loyd and Dora Nell Foster made their home in Altheimer, Arkansas. In time they moved to the Brinkley Community where Wanda enjoyed many activities with the other students in the local school. In 1961, her senior year Wanda was honored to be crowned home coming queen. Also that year the school began a new tradition of monogramming their names on a golden cape. Wanda's would be the first and through the years two other young ladies from the Foster family would receive the same honor.

Wanda was blessed throughout her life to become a wife, mother, and grandmother. She met Carl Harrell while in grade school and they officially became sweethearts in the 7th grade. They never dated anyone else and on the first day of their Junior year, they became engaged. On November 7, 1961 they became Mr. and Mrs. Carl Wayne Harrell. Their family became complete after the birth of four children and in time with the addition of spouses and grandchildren.

Wanda worked outside the home with the McNeil/Stephens School District as a Paraprofessional. As a dedicated and valued employee, she worked for 30 years before choosing to step away from public work and retire.

Throughout their years together both Carl Wayne and Wanda were very dedicated in sharing their faith through ministry with the Church of Christ family. They called many different areas home, including Hunter, and Brinkley Arkansas, West Monroe, Calhoun, and Plain Dealing, Louisiana. In time they returned to Southern Arkansas living in Waldo and eventually settling in Magnolia. Being a lady of faith Wanda always enjoyed sharing with her children church activities and the value of their inheritance in Christ.

At the age 80 Wanda's earthly journey came to a close on October 28, 2024 in Little Rock. She is now reunited with her beloved husband and other family members in the glory of Heaven. She was preceded by her parents, George and Dora Nell Foster, and husband of 56 years, Carl Wayne Harrell,
