Wade O. Williams was born on May 31, 1953, in Monroe, Arkansas, to Thomas "Tubby" and Violet Williams. A devoted husband, father, grandfather, and brother, Wade lived a life rooted in faith, family, and service to others.
Wade graduated from Clarendon High School in 1971. In August 1972, he joined the United States Navy, serving until August 1978. He was stationed at Naval Air Station Miramar in San Diego, California, where his duties included fueling aircraft.
On April 14, 1978, Wade married Audry at First Baptist Church in Clarendon. Together, they shared 48 years of marriage and welcomed two children, Clint and Erica. Wade worked as a supervisor at Riceland Foods for 15 years before becoming disabled in 1992.
Wade enjoyed lending a hand wherever he could, including helping with Potlatch softball, the American Legion, and the football concession stand. A lifelong member of Clarendon First Baptist Church, he faithfully served as a deacon.
In his spare time, Wade enjoyed fishing, hunting, playing cards, and watching Christmas movies. Above all, he loved checking on his family and friends. His familiar question, “What did you eat today?” was a simple, heartfelt expression of his care. Those everyday conversations will remain cherished memories for the people who loved him.
Wade was preceded in death by his parents, Thomas “Tubby” and Violet Williams; his brother, Larry Williams; and his granddaughter, Nickol Mason.
He is survived by his loving wife, Audry Williams; his son, Clint Williams and wife, Kalonie, of Cody, Wyoming; his daughter, Erica Williams of Clarendon; his sister, Rita Settle of Brinkley; and five grandchildren, Ashton Williams of Gilbert, Arkansas, Landon Williams of Kremmling, Colorado, Hunter Williams and fiancée, Kaytlyn, of Cody, Wyoming, Bubba Mason and Conner Mason, both of Clarendon.
Wade’s love for his family, devotion to his church, and willingness to help others will be lovingly remembered by all who knew him.
