Vivian Inebnit
Shadden
September 1, 1940 — October 19, 2022
Knotts Island
Vivian Shadden passed away peacefully at home in Knotts Island, North Carolina on October 19, 2022 at the age of 82.
Vivian was born on September 1, 1940 in Marvell, Arkansas to Dave and Gladys Inebnit. She grew up in the small community with her brother, David and sister, Peggy. The siblings attended school and church in Marvell.
In 1958, Vivian graduated high school and decided to further her studies by attending college at St. Joseph's Nursing School, where she graduated as a registered nurse. She then returned home and began working in nearby Helena at the local hospital. She remained there throughout her career, serving the people of Phillips County for 45 years until her retirement in 2005.
In 1965, Vivian married Larry Wayne Shadden. They made their home in Marvell and soon added two children to their little family: Bryan and Melanie.
Vivian was a lifetime member of Marvell United Methodist Church. In her spare time she enjoyed baking, watching the Hallmark channel, reading her Bible, looking at Facebook and watching hummingbirds and the river. She also loved shopping and collecting novelty tea towels. It is very possible that she may have been the only known person on Earth who enjoyed doing laundry. More than anything, Vivian loved her family…especially her grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
She is survived by her son, Bryan Shadden (Kristie); daughter, Melanie Moreland; grandchildren, Kayla Moreland Ramos (Jose), Jerrica Miller (Cory), Derrick Shadden, Robert Castro and Ashley Castro; great-grandchildren, Jayden, Aven, Atlen, Paisley, Sabrina, James, Leah, Kiera, Logan, Haylee and Robbie; one sister, Peggy Bock (Al); niece, Shannon Young (Clay) and their children, Cole and Allie.
Preceding her in death are her parents, Dave and Gladys Inebnit; husband, Wayne Shadden; son-in-law, Doug Moreland; granddaughter, Karlee Moreland; nephew, Cory Inebnit; and brother, David Inebnit.
A funeral service for Mrs. Vivian Shadden will be held at 10:00 a.m., Tuesday, October 25, 2022 at Bob Neal & Sons Brickell Funeral Home in Marvell. A visitation with the family will be from 6:00 p.m.-8:00 p.m., Monday, October 24 at the funeral home. Burial will be at Schaffhauser Cemetery in Marvell. Reverend Kenneth Lee will officiate.
Pallbearers are Todd Russell, Cory Miller, Lenny Ray Gschwend, Gene Davison, David Macias and Chuck Schaffhauser. Honorary pallbearers are Robert Alan Schaffhauser, Clay Young and Jose Ramos.
