Virginia "Gin"
Faye Rushing
August 9, 1949 — May 7, 2022
Concord
Life's journey for Virginia Faye began on August 9, 1949. She was the second born to the late James and Earlene Hendrix. The family lived in the small rural community of Moro, Arkansas where she received education through the local schools.
She became simply known as Gin and became the wife of Richard Mealler. They shared in the joys of raising three children in the home. Sadly, she experienced the loss of Richard on December 17, 1994. In time, Gin became the wife of Bill Rushing. She was blessed to receive the love and step into the role of mother for his young son Mark. In later years Gin and Bill chose to leave Clarksville and move to Arkansas, settling in the community of Concord. After Bills passing Gin remained steadfast in caring for the family home. Due to health challenges around January of this year her sister Karen moved to help Gin in her home
In earlier years, Gin loved to work outside in the yard mowing and using the weed eater, to help ensure her flowers didn't get mowed down. She liked putting together puzzles with her favorites being puzzles of Indians. She also loved times spent with family, especially the times they gathered for the holidays.
On May 7, 2022 at the age of 72, Gin passed away. She was preceded in death by both husbands; Richard Mealler and Bill Rushing, sister, Kathy Mealler, daughter, Rebecca Ann Russell, grandson Joseph Self Jr, and brother, James Earl Hendrix.
She is survived by her sons, Ricky Mealler, Tommy Mealler, and Mark Rushing, sisters, Helen Young, and Karen Long, along with 13 grandchildren, 11 great grandchildren and 3 great great grandchildren.
