Obituary

It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of Timothy Eugene Thomas, beloved son, husband, father, grandfather, and friend, who died unexpectedly at home on December 9, 2024, at the age of 60. Timmy lived a life full of love, laughter, and joy, and he will be deeply missed by all who knew him.

Timmy was born on October 25, 1964, in Helena, Arkansas, to William and Ruth Thomas. He grew up with a deep appreciation for the simple pleasures of life - especially baseball, fishing, and spending time with his family. He was a passionate fan of baseball, never missing a chance to watch and support his local teams. As a young man, Timmy played baseball for his high school team (Marvel Academy), and his love for the game only grew stronger as his kids got old enough to play. He enjoyed coaching and sharing his love of the game with his kids and other kids of the community. He was known for always having a baseball story or two about a legendary game.

Beyond his love for baseball, Timmy had a deep connection to the water. Fishing was one of his greatest joys, never missing a chance to cast a line in the local waters near home. The peace he found in nature and his quiet moments by the water brought him a sense of tranquility that stayed with him throughout his life.

But above all, Timmy's heart belonged to his family. He married the love of his life, Monica (Davis) Thomas, in 1984, and together they raised two children, Eric and Kyle. Timmy was a devoted husband and father, always putting his family first and making sure they had everything they needed. His children remember him as an outstanding father who taught them the value of hard work, determination, and the importance of supporting those around them.

In addition to his wife and children, Timmy is survived by his mother Ruth Thomas and grandchildren Kyzer and Bentley Gordon; his sister Reta and brother-in-law Mark Batts ; brother Charles Thomas . Timmy showed a constant love for his family and his legacy will live on in the hearts of those who were fortunate enough to know him.

The Thomas family invites all guests to an open visitation service from 6:00pm to 8:00pm at Bob Neal & Son Funeral Home on Friday, December 13th, 2024. Timmy requested private funeral services by family only, though we thank you for your support during this difficult time.

In lieu of flowers, the family requested donations to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital. 501 St. Jude Place, Memphis, TN 38105.

Rest in peace, Timmy. Your love of life, baseball, fishing, and family will forever remain in our hearts.
