Teri Lynn Overton, passed away at the age of 60 on May 7, 2025, at her home in Des Arc. She was born on February 24, 1965, in Stuttgart, Arkansas to Jewell and Mike Briggs. Teri was a beloved wife, mother, grandmother, sister, and friend.
Teri was preceded in death by her father, Mike Briggs, but is survived by her devoted husband, Michael, her children Michael A. Overton (Deanna) of Des Arc and Toni Gowen (Scott) of Garner, as well as her cherished grandchildren Michael Finch Overton, Ty Walker Gowen, and Blakely Jade Gowen. She is also survived by her mother Jewell Briggs and sisters Tammy Hamric (Curtis), Theresa Whiting (John), Beth Proffitt (Phillip), and Donna Loyd (Marvin).
Throughout her life, Teri made significant contributions to her community. She was a dedicated employee of the City of Des Arc, serving as an ambulance driver for eight years. Teri also devoted 20 years to Dondies White River Princess and was a partner of the Garden Gate Nursery in Des Arc. Her hard work and commitment were evident in everything she did.
Teri graduated from Des Arc High School and was deeply passionate about her work and hobbies. She had a love for flowers, birds, butterflies, photography, and animals, especially her beloved dog Scooby. Above all, Teri's greatest joy came from spending time with her grandchildren and watching them play sports.
A member of the First Baptist Church of Des Arc, Teri's faith was an integral part of her life. An EMS Presentation will be held at her memorial service to honor her dedication to serving her community.
Teri's warm smile and unwavering love for her family and friends will always be remembered. She leaves behind a legacy of compassion, hard work, and dedication. Teri will be deeply missed by all who had the privilege of knowing her.
Rest in peace, Teri Lynn Overton. Your memory will forever be cherished in the hearts of those who loved you.
