Shirley Jeannette Harrod was born on April 12, 1926 to H. E. "Bud" and Annie Harrod Sr. The family home was located in Lawrenceville a small community close to Holly Grove where Shirley received formal education becoming a graduate of 1943.

She was blessed in life to become a wife, mother and homemaker. On October 23, 1943 at the young age of 17, Shirley married Roland Matthew Spurlock. They chose to remain part of the Lawrenceville Community and made their home just one mile from where Shirley was born. On November 13, 1959 they welcomed two children into their home, Mark & Edna. For 52 years Shirley and Roland shared in the joys of raising their children. In time  the addition of spouses and grandchildren added to the many cherished memories they shared through the years. Sadly, Shirley experienced the loss of Roland on May 16, 1995 and their son Mark Dean Spurlock on June 28, 2011.

Shirley was raised in the Christian faith. Through baptism she accepted Jesus Christ as her own personal Savior. She devoted her life to her faith in God, her family and her home. For many years she attended worship at the Lawrenceville Community Church and in later years attended the Believers Fellowship Church in Holly Grove. She enjoyed the old gospel songs, loved playing the piano at church and teaching Sunday School.

Survivors are her daughter, Edna Spurlock Langley, of West Memphis; three grand children, Jeremy Wilson, Carrie Spurlock Webster, and Steven Spurlock; five great grandchildren, Grace Wilson, Lily Wilson, Baylee Webster,  Farrah Webster and Bryce Spurlock along with a host of extended family and friends.

Memorials may be give to: Believers Fellowship Church in Holly Grove or the Macedonia Cemetery in Holly Grove.

Visitation will be from 10 to 11AM on Saturday January 22, 2022 at the Believers Fellowship Church in Holly Grove with services following at 11, burial will be at Macedonia Cemetery in Holly Grove, AR.
