Shannon Devon Howell Keel, 76, went to be with her heavenly father on April 5, 2021.  She was born in Des Arc, Arkansas, on May 26, 1944, to James and Mary Clark Howell. She married Charles on May 26, 1965, and recently celebrated 55 years together.   Shannon was preceded in death by her parents; brothers; Tommy and Joel; and sister, Lyn.  She is survived by her husband Charles; son, David (Victoria); two grand-children; Madison (Blake) Richards and Chase Keel; one great-granddaughter; Everleigh ; sister, Lovie; brother, Lewis; and a host of nieces and nephews.

Shannon attended Hickory Plains High School and was a standout on the basketball court.  She taught for over 20 years in the Des Arc Elementary and Des Arc High Schools.  She loved her dog Molly and enjoyed "afternoon circles" with her husband after work, year-round trips to Robinwood , and yard sales with her grandchildren.   Through her illness, her greatest joy was spending time with Everleigh .  Graveside services are April 8, 2021 at 10:00 am at Lakeside Cemetery in Des Arc.  Bro. Woody Lantrip officiating.  Pallbearers are Shawn Kelly, Dusty Price, Kevin Swaim, Chase Keel, Jalen Holloway, Blake Richards.  Honorary pallbearers are Jim Sanner, Billy Don Johnson, Carroll Denton, and Butch Calhoun.
