Ruthie Mathews, age 63, died Thursday March 11, 2021 at her home in Helena. She was born November 26, 1957 in Holly Grove, AR the daughter of Earnest and Lorene Whitehead Mathews. Ruthie worked many years as a math teacher for the Forrest City School District and was a member of the Moro Baptist Church.

Ruthie is survived by her son: Nathenial (Nate) Mathews of Helena

One sister: Marcelle Jackson of Arkansas

Four brothers: Earnest Mathews (Peggy) of Louisiana, Leroy Mathews of Arkansas, Marvin Mathews of Arkansas, & Charles Mathews (Dian) of Georgia

Several nieces and nephews and other relatives and friends

She was preceded in death by her parents, a brother; Michael Mathews and three sisters; Martha Mathews, Wanda Wilson & Joanna Mathews

Pallbearers: Lynda Williamson, Craig Carruth, Marty Cantwell, & Candace Burks

Visitation will be 10:30 – 11:00 a.m. Saturday March 13 at Marianna Memorial Park.

Graveside services will be 11:00 a.m. Saturday at Marianna Memorial Park.
