Ruby Geraldine Dover, age 92, and former longtime resident of Brinkley, passed away on December 6, 2020 in Batesville. She was born on April 21, 1928 to the family of James Carl and Ruth Lilly White. Geraldine received formal education through the public schools and became a 1948 graduate of Brinkley High School.
She was blessed in life to become a wife, home maker and mother of two sons, Dennis and Doug. Over the years, she has been given the added joys of watching her family grow with the addition of five grand children, 20 great grandchildren and 3 great great grandchildren.
On June 3, 1966 she married Cletis Clint Dover and they chose to remain part of the Brinkley Community. The first five years of Geraldine's career was spent working in the shipping office at the Van Heusen Shirt Factory. She later secured a position with the City of Brinkley where she remained for over 26 years as the Office Manager at the Brinkley Municipal Water Company before retiring from public work.
Geraldine was a Christian and knew the importance of a relationship with her Savior Jesus Christ. Before moving to Batesville Geraldine, had been an active member of the Brinkley First Baptist Church, serving as treasure for the Love Sunday School Class and a member of the Young at Heart.
Geraldine was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Cletis Clint Dover; son, Dennis William Tate; brothers, James White and Vernon White. She is survived by son, Douglas Tate; brother, Lonnie White (Beverly); sister, Aline Poteet; daughter in law, Betty Joe Tate; five grandchildren, David Tate (Amanda), Amanda Downhour (Josh), Gatha Roberts (Michal), Lisa Foster (Scott), Deborah Richardson (Ronald); 20 great grandchildren and 3 great great grandchildren.
