Rodney Kent Monroe, longtime resident of Moro, passed away Tuesday, May 30, 2023, at the age of 81.

Rodney was born in Memphis TN., on November 21, 1941. The family of N.B and Louise Riffey Monroe made their home in Wheatley when they welcomed the birth of their last born. Rodney was raised in the Methodist faith and grew up attending church with his family at the Wheatley Methodist Church. He received education through the local Public Schools and continued his studies at UCA for two years.

When studies came to an end, Rodney returned home and followed in the footsteps of his father working on the family farm. With a genuine love for working the soil, Rodney remained dedicated to the farm up until his retirement.

Rodney was preceded in death by his parents, N.B. and Louise Monroe, daughter, Teri Lynn Monroe,
brother H.B. Monroe and sister Joyce Herndon.

He is survived by his daughter, Michele Monroe of Little Rock.

Graveside services will be held on Friday at 10:00 A.M. at Johnson Cemetery in Wheatley. In lieu of flowers the family requested donations to be given to Johnson Cemetery P.O Box 105  Wheatley , Arkansas 72392.
