Robert Rudolph Steiner (Bobby to his many friends and family) died peacefully at his home on September 22, 2021.
Bobby was born on January 31, 1936, at Hicks, Arkansas, the son of Reverend Traugott and Ida W. Steiner. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by the love of his life and devoted wife of 50 years, Elizabeth M. Steiner. His sisters, Lillian S. Bass and Clara S. Humphreys preceded him in death.
He is survived by his daughter Cathey S. Burks and husband Winston W. Burks, III, Bedford, VA, and son, Robert Rudolph Steiner, Jr. and wife Tina L. Steiner, Bentonville, AR; his grandchildren Anna B. Bolling and husband R. Patrick Bolling, Lynchburg, VA, Katherine B. McNeely and husband Brian D. McNeely, Bedford, VA, W. Watts Burks IV and wife Elizabeth M. Burks, Roanoke, VA, Mary L. Partridge and husband Charles W. Partridge, Bentonville, AR and Sarah E. Steiner, Bentonville, AR; and by his great grandchildren, R. Onex Bolling, II, George B. Bolling, Charles D. McNeely, II, Winston W. Burks V, and Charles H. Partridge. He is also survived by his sister, Anne S. Palmer, and dedicated caregiver, companion and nephew, Traugott T. Humphreys, in addition to numerous nieces and nephews.
Bobby attended school in Hicks and graduated from Marvell High School in 1954. He was a graduate of the University of Arkansas and was a proud Razorback fan. Bobby served his country honorably in the United States Army then returned home to farm in Phillips County for over 50 years. He also served as a board member of the Arkansas Farm Bureau for many years.
He was a lifelong dedicated member and a pillar of Hicks United Church of Christ, where he served in numerous official and unofficial roles. Bobby was a well known, much loved and respected member of his community - he had many friends and never turned one away.
The family would also like to express their appreciation to the nurses and staff of Regional Home Care and Patient's Choice Hospice Care. These special people allowed for Bobby to live out his final days on his cherished farm and home place.
Graveside services will be 2:00 p.m. Saturday September 25, 2021 at Schaffhauser Cemetery with Rev. Ron Buck officiating.
No public visitation will be held.
