Obituary

The journey in this life for Robert Charles Burrow began on February 21, 1944, at the family home in Brinkley. He was the 2nd born of three sons to "Shorty" and Vaudean Burrow. In time the family moved to the Allendale community. Robert attended the Brinkley School and graduated with the class of 1962.

True romance came for Robert when he met Nancy Kay Tipton, a pretty young lady from Moro. The two became friends while enjoying leisure time at a favorite hangout for young people. After a time of courtship, they were married July 9, 1965, at the Wheatley Baptist Church. For the past 59 years they shared life's journey, raised three sons, welcomed their wives, loved on grandchildren, entertained friends and did the best they could on the family homestead known as the Burrow Farm.

Robert was born into a farming family and remained in "the field" through life. He worked hard, always making the farm a success. When minnow ponds were added, he loved early mornings, feeding the fish and eradicating the birds. A true outdoorsman, Robert enjoyed all manner of hunting, especially squirrel along with a favorite little hound dog, Ellie. In early years, he greatly enjoyed the art of trapping. He caught all furbearing critters. Kay thought surely one day, she would have a mink coat… she didn't

Not one to stray far from home, Robert was a soft spoken gentleman, who welcomed family and friends easily. The Burrow shop was a meeting place for friends. If they arrived in time they were treated to fried fish or an early breakfast of his homemade biscuits. Lately he enjoyed cooking many meat selections in the smoker and sharing among family and friends.

At times Robert attended Brinkley Missionary Baptist Church, but thinking about worship, he would often say, "We'll gather at the river".  The passage to eternal peace for Robert began long years ago when he accepted Jesus Christ as Lord and Saviour.  On October 17, 2024, at his home, Robert (80) passed into eternity. The moment his heart became silent, his eyes beheld his Heavenly Father and the beauty of Glory.   . . .  Rest in peace dear friend  . . .
