Ricky Adams, 65, of Des Arc, Arkansas, went to be with the Lord on Wednesday, May 8, 2024, after a courageous battle with prostate cancer. He was born on November 9, 1958 in Searcy, Arkansas.

Ricky graduated from Des Arc High School in 1977. He was a high school athlete competing in track and field, basketball and a member of Des Arc High School's State Football Championship team of '76-77 and Boy Scouts of America. Rick was a foreign exchange student in San Paulo, Brazil in 1975-76.

Rick started his working career at Guy DeVore Oil Company, where he learned the true value of hard work and developed a love of the fuel industry. Rick's work in the fuel industry continued for several years with Tri-Oil in Stuttgart, The Southern Company in NLR, Truman Arnold Company in AR and TX and T-Ricks in Arkansas.

In 1993, Rick married the love of his life LaNan Sanders of Hazen, Arkansas. Rick later adopted LaNan's daughter Rosa Mae, and they welcomed daughters Candace in 1995 and Madison in 1999.

Rick is survived by his wife LaNan, daughters Rosa Mae (Jack) Bacon of Virginia, Candace (Jonah) Roberts of Chattanooga, TN and Madison Adams of Nashville, TN, granddaughter's Parker and Addison Bacon of Virginia, parents Joe (Ellen) Adams of NLR and Malinda DeVore Bell of Des Arc. Siblings Donna Jean (Mike) McIntosh, Pam (Mike) Luckadoo, Rodney Adams, Randy Adams, JoEllen (Dewan) Laws and Julie (Maurice) Shirley as well as a host of aunts, uncles, nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his grandparents O.W. and Verlinda Adams and Guy and Sally DeVore, brother Brian Bell and Uncle Guyman DeVore.

Rick's later years were spent serving the Lord and as a member of Gideon's International.

A celebration of life service will be held May 31 from 3-5 pm at the First Baptist Church Family Life Center in Des Arc. Family members will be at the residence of Rodney Adams 13th and Curran St. Des Arc.

Rick will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved him.
