Phyllis Ann Hayes, beloved wife, mother, sister, and grandmother, passed away on February 10, 2024, at the age of 69. She was born on September 28, 1954, in Holly Grove, Arkansas, to Hollis and Sarah Fox. Phyllis was a remarkable woman who touched the lives of many through her kindheartedness, warmth, and unwavering love for her family and community.

Phyllis was a devoted wife to her loving husband, Jerry "Squeaky" Hayes for fifty-one years. Their enduring love and partnership were the foundation of their beautiful family. As a mother, Phyllis was a guiding light for her two sons, Jerry and Jason Hayes. She instilled in them the values of compassion, hard work, and dedication. Phyllis cherished her role as a mother and took great pride in seeing her sons grow into loving and successful individuals.

Phyllis was a 1973 graduate of Clarendon High School.  She loved the CHS Lions. If you knew her well, you know she was also an avid fan of the Arkansas Razorbacks.

Throughout her working years, Phyllis served as an Administrative Assistant at Jimmy Sanders, where she made lasting connections with colleagues and demonstrated her exceptional organizational skills. Her dedication and hard work were admired by all who worked alongside her.

Phyllis Ann Hayes came to know Christ at an early age.  She joined Friendship Missionary Baptist Church in the Park Grove Community.  Later in life, she and her family were active members of First Baptist Church of Clarendon.

Phyllis was preceded in death by her parents, Hollis and Sarah Fox.

She is survived by her husband, Jerry Hayes; Sons, Jerry (Mari) Hayes Jr of North Little Rock, Jason (Candice) Hayes of Brinkley; Brother, Keith Fox of Clarendon; Sisters, Kathy (Henry) Stewart Clarendon, Vicki Hartsell of Houston, Texas, and Sherry (Steve) London of Tyronza, Arkansas; Four Grandchildren, Reis Hayes, Maddie May, Hunter Hayes, and Elizabeth Drew Hayes; and a host of nieces, nephews, and cousins.

Phyllis Ann Hayes will forever be remembered as a loving wife, devoted mother, caring sister, doting grandmother, and faithful friend. Her kind spirit, selflessness, and love for others will never be forgotten. She leaves behind a legacy of love and kindness that will continue to inspire all those who were fortunate to have known her.

A Graveside Service to celebrate the life of Phyllis Ann Hayes will be held at the Shady Grove Cemetery in Clarendon, Arkansas on Wednesday, February 14, 2024 at 3:00 PM
