Pansy Grider Rowland was born on February 24, 1927 at Creigh, Arkansas to Van and Mary Walton Grider.  She was raised up on Connells Point, Arkansas.  Growing up, she attended church at the Sanctified Holy Church in Connells Point.  She also attended school until 9th grade in Connells Point, then attended Marvell High School in 10th grade and finally graduating in 1944 from Aubrey High School.

She worked at Sears & Roebuck in Memphis for a while before returning to Connells Point.

She married Earl Rowland and raised seven children.

After Pansy's husband passed away, she worked at Suddath's Grocery in Marvell for six years, then went on to work at Ronny's Dollar Store in Marvell for the next 18 years until her retirement at age 76.

Pansy joined Trenton Missionary Baptist Church in 2008 and taught the Wednesday night class since 2009.

She loved her family and friends, her flowers, and vegetable garden.  Pansy made lots of hand crafts during her life.

Pansy was preceded in death by her husband, Earl Rowland; parents, Van and Mary Grider; brother, Oliver Grider; daughter, Judy Rowland; son, Larry Rowland; granddaughter, Tiffany Brewer; and one great-grandson, Mason Howell Harper.

She is survived by three sons, Danny Rowland (Carol) of Mena, Dale Rowland (Betty) of Marvell; and Allan Rowland of Holly Grove; three daughters, Gail Duncan (Linnie) of Perryville, Carolyn Brewer of Marvell and Janet Howell of Marvell; 13 grandchildren and 26 great-grandchildren; and many other family members and friends.
