Ollie Hill, Jr. was born on December 21, 1946 in Marvell, Arkansas.  He was the first born child of Ollie, Sr. and Cloda Moon Hill.  Before long, Ollie was joined by two brothers, Danny and Allen; and a sister, Diane.  He attended Marvell Public school until the family moved to Peoria, Arizona, where Ollie finished his high school education.  It was at around this time that Ollie met his next door neighbor, Carol Phillips.  The two were instantly smitten.

In the spring of 1966, Ollie joined the U.S. Army.  While in the service, he worked as a small arms repairman and visited Germany and Illeshiem.

In the fall of 1966, Ollie made another momentous life change when he married his sweetheart, Carol.  When Ollie completed his two years of service, he was discharged and returned to civilian life.  For many years, Ollie pastored at several different churches in Arizona.  Four children soon came along, Anthony, Michael, Michelle and Deborah.  When Ollie and Carol retired, they moved to Phillips County, Arkansas to enjoy a slower paced life and to be closer to Ollie's brothers.

On Saturday, May 27, 2023, Ollie passed away at his home in Poplar Grove

He is survived by his wife of almost 57 years, Carol; his two daughters, Michelle Rae Hill of New Jersey and Deborah Ann Short (Chris) of Poplar Grove; twelve grandchildren and four great-grandchildren; his two brothers, Danny Hill and Allen Hill; and his sister, Diane Knapp.

Ollie was preceded in death by his parents; and by his two sons, Anthony Leon Hill and Michael Dwayne Hill.

The family plans to have a memorial service for Ollie this Friday, June2, 2023 at Storm Creek Lake in West Helena, Arkansas.
