OB Fields took his final breath on January 27th, 2024, after a long and happy 96 years, as he was surrounded by his loved ones.

OB was born on November 17th, 1927, in Tuscaloosa, Alabama and moved to Little Dixie, Arkansas with his parents as a boy, after World War II. It was there where the lifelong legacy that OB would build truly started. There he cleared the land where he would go on to build a home and start farming, and where three more generations would continue to build their families as a multi-generational farming family. OB loved his family, farming, and fishing. He especially loved to go fishing with his grandsons. OB was very well known for his sense of humor, contagious laughter, and the way that he treated everyone with respect and kindness.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Walter and Beatrice Fields; brother JR Fields; and sisters Thelma Fields McClure and Juanita Fields Haynes.

He is survived by his loving wife of 74 years, Helen Horner Fields; daughter Gatha (David) Oltmann; son Steve (DeWanna) Fields; 5 grandchildren including Stacy (John David) Vondran, Christy (Ryan) Rogers Michael (Andi) Oltmann, Greg (Amber) Fields and Jeremy (Amber) Oltmann; 11 great grandchildren including Tori Bell, Brent (Trinity) Bell, Colton Oltmann, Ashlynn (Heath) Hayes, Alysa Fields, Ella Fields, Annsley Oltmann, Ryan Oltmann, and Andrew Vondran; one great great-granddaughter Whembley Bell, and twin great great-grandchildren Wyatt and Wrenlee Hayes due in July of this year.
