Obituary

Mona Eileen Bankson Buck's life didn't come to an end with her death. Her memory will be alive in our hearts forever. She was born to Wayne and Willa Dean Bankson on March 24, 1958 in Pulaski, Illinois.
She passed away unexpectedly on May 20, 2024 at the age of 66 in Des Arc, Arkansas. While most of her family knew her as Eileen, many friends have known her as Mona.

Mona completed Meridian High School in 1976 in Mounds, Illinois. She then attended Lincoln College in Lincoln, Illinois. She worked various jobs around the Des Arc area until her retirement in March of 2023. The simplest pleasures in life brought great joy to Mona. She loved to be outdoors spending time with family and friends. You could most often find her at some fishing hole around town or in the country trying to catch a few crappie. It would not be unusual to find her down on the river somewhere with her tent camping. She loved taking all her children to the river camping when they were younger. She was a very loving mother, sister, aunt and friend to all. She spent a lot of time caring for others in need. Mona was a selfless person and put everyone's needs in front or her own. She was a joy to be around and you rarely saw her when she wasn't smiling. She had an uncanny ability to find happiness in her daily activities. Her pleasant personality was contagious to everyone she met. She was truly an angel in disguise.
