Melinda Beth (Taylor) Richards, born on February 4, 1962, in Searcy, AR to her loving parents, Ruby and Cecil Taylor, passed away at her home on March 19, 2026 at the age of 64.
On December 13, 1980, Melinda married her true love, Eddie Richards, and together they made their home in Des Arc where they raised their family. Their love story is one that will continue to inspire and bring warmth to those who knew them.
A graduate of Des Arc Schools, class of 1981, Melinda's career spanned various roles including secretary for Nichols Implement and John Deere Implement of Des Arc. She served at the Prairie County Tax Collectors Office for 16 years, and the City of Des Arc Utility Office. Her work ethic was admired by those who knew her, and she was known for her dedication and commitment.
Melinda had a zest for life, filling her days with the love of her children and grandchildren, the thrill of shopping, the joy of traveling, and the relaxation of taking cruises. She was a woman of faith, a member of the Family Worship at Des Arc, and held dear her childhood church, Lakeside Missionary Baptist Church.
Melinda was preceded in death by her mother, Ruby L. (Jenkins) Taylor, and her brother, Ricky Taylor. She leaves behind a loving family, including her devoted husband, Eddie Richards; her cherished children, daughter Jamie Ray (David) of Beebe and son Blakely Richards (Madison) of Des Arc; her caring father, Cecil Taylor of Des Arc; brothers, Steve Taylor (JoAnn) of Des Arc and Bryan Taylor (Keena) of Hot Springs; sister, Debbie Stidham (Ray) of NW AR; and her precious grandchildren and great-grandchildren, Whitney Foster, Brody Swaim, Hoyt Richards, Gatlin Richards, Presley, and Legend, who all brought her immense joy.
Melinda, your light will continue to shine in our hearts. You will be deeply missed, but your love will forever remain with us.
