Maurice "Gus" Lee Grissom was born March 13, 1948 in Independence, Iowa, a son of Morris Frank and Maxine Velma (Werner) Grissom. Maurice passed away at his home in Morrilton, Arkansas on October 23, 2021 at the age of 73.

Gus was a veteran in the United States Navy. He was a lineman for Southwestern Bell and worked for the company until retirement. Gus had a passion for woodworking and building anything imagined. He also enjoyed watching NASCAR in his free time. Gus will be missed greatly by his family and friends.

Gus is preceded in death by his father.

Gus is survived by his wife; Susan Grissom of Morrilton, Arkansas; sons: Michael Grissom and wife Haley of Fenton, Missouri, Joshua Grissom of Central City, Iowa; daughters: Molly Fairchild of Cedar Rapids, Iowa, Jessica Jarneigan of Atlanta, Georgia; stepson: Ronn Elsamiller and wife Danelle of Waterloo, Iowa; step-daughter: Tamala Siebrands and husband Darren of Waverly, Iowa; mother: Maxine Grissom of Paris, Missouri; brother: John Grissom of Harpers Ferry, Iowa; sister: Diane Holmes of Paris, Missouri; several grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

Memorial Service will be held on Thursday, October 28, 2021 at 2:00 p.m. at the Bob Neal and Sons Funeral Home Chapel in Morrilton, Arkansas.
