Mary Irene Walker, 87, of Marvell, Arkansas, passed away on May 1, 2024. She was born on January 31, 1937, in Marvell, Arkansas, to the late John Walter Fuller and May Irene Fillmore Fuller. Mary was a dedicated Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) for many years at the Phillips County Health Department.

Mary attended school at Marvell Elementary and Marvell High School. She was a beloved member of the Assembly of God Church and Church of the Nazarene communities. Mary enjoyed fishing, riding around, and had a special love for eating ice cream.

In 1956, Mary married James Walker, Sr. in Clarksdale, Mississippi.  Two children were born from this union; a daughter and a son.

Mary is survived by her son, James F. Walker, Jr. (Brenda) of Marvell; daughter, Betty Mills of Scott Valley; grandchildren, Shawn Darby, Jason Darby (Jennifer), Bethany Walker (Nick), Crissa Paige Bevels (J.D.), and Billy Uselton (Shelby); 5 great-grandchildren; 6 great-great-grandchildren; special friend Gilbert Burgess; her beloved poodle, Zoe, and many other family members and friends.

Mary was preceded in death by her husband, James F. Walker, Sr.; father, John Walter Fuller; mother, May Irene Fillmore Fuller; a great-grandson, Austin Darby; brothers, Joseph C. Fuller and Thomas M. Fuller; and half-sister, Gertrude Glaze.

Visitation will be held on Friday, May 3, 2024, from 6-8 p.m. at Bob Neal & Sons Brickell Funeral Home in Marvell, Arkansas. The funeral service will take place at the funeral home on Saturday, May 4, 2024, at 10 a.m., followed by burial at Marvell Cemetery.
