Obituary

Mary Lou Taylor was born on January 17, 1942, to Epths and Clara Jane Wilkison. The family made their home in Brinkley, where Mary Lou attended the public schools.  She played in the band and was honored in 1958 to be chosen as Homecoming Queen her Junior year.  She graduated in 1959.

Mary Lou was blessed throughout her life and took pride in her accomplishments as a wife, homemaker and mother. She shared in the joys of raising two daughters and seeing the family grow with the addition of spouses, grandchildren and great grandchildren.

Mary Lou was well known in the community for her loving and kind nature as she greeted customers at the local Kroger Store. She remained a dedicated and valued employee for over thirty years before choosing to retire.

Mary Lou was raised in the Christian faith and knew the importance of a relationship with her Saviour Jesus Christ.  As a longtime member of the First United Methodist Church, she enjoyed participating for over 30 years with the hand bell choir.  She also loved sharing with her children and church family the value of their inheritance in Christ.

On August 13, 2024, Mary Lou's earthly journey ended at the age of 82.  She was preceded in death by her parents, Epths and Clara Wilkison, her husband and the father of her children, Glen King, and husband Pete Taylor.
