Mary Nell Parker passed away on January 26, 2021 at the age of 93. She was born on October 28, 1927, one of seven children to Jessie and Mary Ellen (Seals) Mavity. She rode to school on horseback to the Pride Country School just south of Clarendon where she attended until the ninth grade. She was raised on the farm, plowing and picking cotton or anything else that was needed.

On August 31, 1946 she married Edgar Lee "Bob" Parker and to their union was added a son and later two grandchildren and three great grandchildren.

She worked 28 years for Van Heusen in Brinkley, and then on to Farris Fashions for 23 years. She also owned and operated T&B Upholstery Shop in Clarendon and in late years worked at the Clarendon Welcome Center.

Mary was a longtime member of the Church Of Christ as well as being active in the local Lion's Club. She enjoyed cooking, reading, her animals, especially her dogs and last but most important her grandchildren, nieces and nephews.

Preceding her in death were her husband, son, Robert Parker, great grandson, Caleb Gosha and five siblings, Gene Mavity, Lonnie Mavity, Lester Mavity, Larry Mavity and Fay Umholtz.

Mary is survived by: her grandchildren, Tonya Tackwell and Bryan Parker, two great grandchildren, Jackson Parker and Memphis Tackwell, and one brother, Wade Mavity.
