Martha Jean Garris was born on April 3, 1942 in Zent, Arkansas to Edward and Edith Deason. As the last born child she enjoyed sharing in her many  memories of childhood with four siblings.

On February 14, 1964 at the age of 21, Martha became the bride of  William Edward "Sonny" Garris. They made their home in Wheatley and were blessed to share in the joys of raising two daughters, Karen and Eileena. In time they moved to Brinkley where they remained. Sadly Martha experienced the passing of Sonny in 2018. Martha was well known in the community and  active for many years in the Ladies Auxilary.

Martha was of the Christian faith and attended times of worship at  the Wheatley Baptist Church.

She was preceded in death by her parents, husband Sonny Garris; brother, Sonny Deason and sisters, Edna Flake and Doris Williams.

Survivors include; daughters, Karen Robison and husband Michael, of Cushing, Oklahoma; Eileena Veazey and husband Cliff, of McCrory, Arkansas; brothers, Harold Deason and wife Deborah, of Bainbridge, Georgia,  five grandchildren, Amber White, Cassie Walker, Amanda Carey, Samantha Cypert, and Sydney Leonard; six great grandchildren, Cason, Parker, Jett, Emma Kate, Payton and Eleanore
