Mae Dell O'Neal, born on May 30, 1940, in Philadelphia, MS, peacefully passed away on February 29, 2024, in Lincoln, NE. She was a beloved daughter of George A. Gentry and Georgia P. Johnson Gentry.

Mae Dell was a woman of grace and strength, deeply cherished by all who knew her. She was preceded in death by her father, George Gentry, her mother, Georgia Johnson Gentry, her loving husband, James Thomas "Bill" O'Neal, her son David Gentry, her daughters Dorothy Williams and Brenda O'Neal, her granddaughter Brenda "Bay" Jarrett Morgan, her brothers Dillard Gentry, Millard Gentry, Kenny Gentry, E.L. Gentry, and her sisters Clara Barton and Lillie Mae Davenport.

She is survived by her son, James O'Neal (Rosie) of Poplar Grove, her daughters JoAnn Jarrett (Donnie) of Poplar Grove, and Anita Devor (Steven) of Lincoln, NE. Mae Dell leaves behind a legacy of love with 18 grandchildren, numerous great-grandchildren, and great-great-grandchildren. She is also survived by her brother Mitchell Gentry (Linda) of McComb, MS, her sister Annie Faye Grantham of Monette, her special friend in Lincoln, Donald Nightingale, her church family and the Golden Girls at Lincoln Church of Christ in Lincoln and many other family members and friends.

Mae Dell O'Neal was a dedicated homemaker, who loved caring for her family. Her marriage to Bill O'Neal on May 9, 1961, in Marvell was a testament to their unwavering love. They resided in Phillips County for their entire marriage.

Her faith in the Church of Christ was unwavering, and she found solace and strength in her church family at Lincoln Church of Christ in Lincoln. Mae Dell found joy in attending Twin City Church of Christ, Cypert Church of Christ, and the Lincoln Church of Christ throughout her lifetime.

In her free time, Mae Dell enjoyed gardening and tending to flowers of all kinds. She had a special love for her grandchildren and took immense joy in spending time with them. Gospel music resonated in her soul, and she found peace in its melodies. Her passion for bringing people to church was a testament to her kind and generous spirit.

A celebration of Mae Dell O'Neal's life will be held on Thursday, March 7, 2024, at 2:00 PM at Twin City Church of Christ, U.S. 49, West Helena, AR, USA.  Visitation will be Thursday morning from 11:00 a.m. until service time.  Burial will be at Cypert Cemetery in Marvell.   As we bid farewell to a remarkable woman, may her memory be a blessing to all who were fortunate enough to have known her.
