Obituary

Lonnie Ray Hill (59) of Dewitt and formerly of Brinkley, passed away on Friday, May 21, 2021. He was born in Brinkley to Woodrow and Margaret Hill on November 7, 1961. Lonnie was the third born and received education at the local schools. Shortly, before graduation Lonnie left school to help with family needs. With a desire to finish his education, he continued his studies and completed his GED in less than a month.

During his childhood, Lonnie learned his fishing and trapping knowledge from his Grandpa Woodrow and later the trade of farming from his grandfather Lonnie Fitts. In 1989 Lonnie received his CDL.

On November 17, 1989 just few days after his 28 th birthday, Lonnie married Elizabeth Hill of Maddox Bay and they set out to raise six children. From the time the children were grown, Lonnie and Elizabeth started a new journey of their own. For the past six years they shared some of the best memories together traveling. They would follow the hopper bottoms to the oil fields, seeing every state in the US, with some of their favorites being, North Dakota and Texas.

Like most young men raised in the southern Delta, Lonnie had a love of the outdoors. He enjoyed hunting and fishing, a skill he took pride in passing down to future generations. Lonnie's love for family exceeded all and the times spent together leave many treasured memories for family to cherish for years to come.

Lonnie was raised in the Christian faith and from a young age attended times of worship with his family at the Holly Grove Baptist Church. He knew the importance of a relationship with his Saviour Jesus Christ and knew his bible well.

Lonnie was preceded in death by his parents, Woodrow and Margaret Hill and brother David Black.

He is survived by his wife, Elizabeth Hill; and children in birth order, daughter, Kandace Barber (Clint), and her daughter, Destiny; son, Joseph Hill (Leslie), their children; Haley, Tre, Jordan and Kamdyn; son, Philip Boyce, and his children Mark, Isaiah, Levi, Alexys, and Moriya, daughter, Christy Hill and her children, Austin, and Madison; son, Albert Boyce and his children, Nathaniel and, Adaley; son, Lonnie Hill Jr. and his children, Samuel, and Jariah, all of Arkansas. Lonnie is also survived by brothers, Steve Black (Rhonda), Paul Hill (Peggy) and Barry Hill (Betty).
