Lonnie Harold Fitts of Brinkley passed away on Tuesday, April 5, 2022. He was born on February 19, 1936 in Marvell, Arkansas and the second born to Lonnie and Buena Mae Fitts.

Lonnie married Shirley Iann McCallie. They made their home in Brinkley and in time were blessed with two sons, Russell and Bruce and daughter, Amy. Over the years they shared in the joys of welcoming eight grandchildren and six great grandchildren to the family.

Proud to do his part in service to his country, Lonnie served in the United States Army. His tour of duty began on June 25, 1954. After serving two years of active duty, on June 22, 1956, Lonnie received his honorable discharge.

Lonnie is preceded in death by his parents Lonnie Silas and Buena Mae (Pyron) Fitts; brother, Otha Wayne "Red" Fitts, sisters, Doris "Juanita" Freeman and Margaret "Sissy" Hill.

He is survived by his wife Shirley McCallie Fitts,  children, Russell Fitts, Bruce Fitts (Stephanie), and Amy Lloyd; brothers, Robert Earl "Rob" Fitts (Barbara), Donald "Pete" Fitts (Marty), and Barron "Boopy" Fitts (Karen), eight grandchildren and six great grandchildren.
