Linda Faye
Crafford
September 18, 1947 — December 7, 2023
Linda Faye (Hill) Crafford, 76, left this world on December 7, 2023. At the time of her death, she was in Holt Florida visiting granddaughter Shaunna, who was by her side when she passed.
Linda, the eldest of 4 children, was born on September 18, 1947, to Mary Lee (Walters Hill) Lester and George Hill in Lonoke County Arkansas. She was then followed in birth by Patricia (Pat), Clinton (Clint), and Jackie.
She went to school in Des Arc, Arkansas where she met and later married James on September 28, 1962. A little history, James was actually her school bus driver!! He was five years older than Linda and at the time, the school allowed High School seniors to drive the buses!! James and Linda lived lives full of love, devotion, family, and community. Linda worked at the Van Heusen shirt factory for a few years before she began working for Donald and Ann Guess at The Dairy Bar where she became a face you knew you see (or she worked side by side with Donald at the grill) for many years. Linda stopped working and stayed home with family for many years. When she decided to go back to work, you could find her at Dondie's White River Princess (she and Mike Skarda usually cutting up and keeping everyone laughing) for several years. Her last official place of employment was with Paul Guess (son of Donald and Ann Guess, kind of made it full circle) at the candle factory. After that, she enjoyed her hobby of making floral arrangements for loved one's headstones to show them that they may be gone but never forgotten.
Linda is survived by daughter Tammy Wallace (Stanley) of Fair Oaks, grandson Chad Fisher (Janelle) of North Carolina, and granddaughters Shaunna Thompson (Chris) of Florida and Morgan Rodgers (Alan) of McCrory, and brother Jackie Hill (Kathy) of Cabot. She is also survived by 5 great grandchildren: Clayton (12) and Colton (9) Thompson (Chris and Shaunna Thompson), Paisley White (8) and Maezie Rodgers (2) (Alan and Morgan Rodgers), and James Fisher (6 months) (Chad Fisher and Janelle Dubose).
Linda was preceded in death by her husband, the love of her life, James Rannie Crafford on May 4, 2018, after 55 beautiful years of marriage (the kind that movies are made after), son Jeff Crafford, parents Mary Lee and Carl Lester and George Hill, brother Clinton Hill, sister Patricia Sanders, and her and James' four-legged fur baby Pepper.
A memorial service will be January 13th at 4:00 P.M. at Garth Funeral Home Chapel in Des Arc, AR with visitation from 3:30 P.M.- 4:00 P.M. Services will be led by Bro. Mike Edwards.
