Laymon Edwin Honeycutt was born on July 3, 1944, to his parents Jasper "Jap" Honeycutt and Fern Spurlock Honeycutt.

Laymon was a proud 1962 graduate of Holly Grove High School. He excelled in all sports. He was the quarterback for his Panther team. Although football was his favorite, he showed out one night on the basketball court and put up 44 points. He loved reminiscing about his glory days playing ball.

His hobbies included hunting, fishing, going to the horse track at Oaklawn, and watching tv which usually included some type of sport or a "good old Western". His favorite pastime was hanging out and smoking cigarettes. He shared many times that was his favorite thing to do. He affectionately referred to most people as "Cuz" and enjoyed visiting with friends and family.

Laymon passed away at the age of 80 on February 21st , 2025 at Unity Health in Searcy, Arkansas. He is survived by his daughter Dana (Darin) Daniel of Searcy, AR, his two granddaughters, Dannon (Jon) Alexander of Searcy, AR, and Delaney (Blake) Moss of Romance, AR, his two great grandsons, Cade Walker Alexander and Lane Daniel Alexander. Laymon is also survived by his brother, Jasper Roland (Wanda) Honeycutt of Jacksonville, Arkansas. Also surviving are many cousins whom he loved very much.
