Obituary

Life's journey for Lacy Lavada Elms began on May 26, 1930. She was born in the small rural community of Blackton, Arkansas to Charlie and Johnny Bundren. As the second born of nine children, Lacy shared in the daily task of helping to care for the family home and her younger siblings. .

Lacy was blessed in 1946 to become the young bride of a soldier named, James "Jimmy" Elms. She took great pride in her role as a wife, mother and homemaker. Through the years, Jimmy found himself outnumber in the household as the father of five girls. Lacy and Jimmy would spend nearly 60 years together watching their family grow with the addition of spouses, grandchildren, and great grandchildren.   Lacy helped to supplement the family income at Wagner Electric,  staying  a valued and dedicated employee until choosing to retire.  Sadly, the family experienced the loss of Jimmy on March 16, 2006. Lacy remained steadfast in caring for the family home for many years before purchasing a  mobile home and placed it next to the home of her daughter, Terry.

When time allowed Lacy loved spending time working in her garden, traveling and painting. While growing up she was known to be a skilled shooter and enjoyed going hunting and fishing with her older brother Dempsy. She was also a lady of faith and in times of worship enjoyed fellowship at the First Baptist Church in Brinkley. Although no time on earth is long enough to share with those we love, on September 13, 2023, at the age of 93, Lacy's earthly journey came to an end as she entered the gates of her eternal home . She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, Jimmy Elms, and siblings, Dempsy, Bill, Annie and Ollie May.

Survivors include: five daughters, Marie Letty (John) of Mabelvale, Shirley Elmendorf (Richard) of Benton, Linda Nickleson (Carl) of Brinkley, Joyce Ham (David) of Mabelvale, and Terry Reynolds (David) of Brinkley, brother, Tommy Bundren (Evonne) of Clarendon, sisters, Nobie Watson (George) of Baycliff, TX., Donnie Partee (Howard) of Marianna, and Sylvia Crews of Jonesboro, seven grandchildren, Michelle Cook, James Nickleson, Michael Elmendorf, Matthew Nickleson, Michael Reynolds, Jason Ham, and Jeremy Elmendorf, thirteen great grandchildren, Zackary, Keegan and Jordan Elmendorf, Casey, Courtney, Clayton, Tristan, and Alexis Nickleson, Jaxon and Jase Ham, Cody, Hannah, and Alysen Reynolds, and nine great-great grandchildren, Rhett, Lillian, Canon, Camden, Cienna, Clarke, and Cable Nickleson, Case Bell and Carter Harwell.
