Kenneth Lee
Guest
October 15, 1946 — December 6, 2023
Marvell
On October 15, 1946, Kenneth Lee Guest made his arrival in Marvell, Arkansas to his proud parents, James and Lucille (Shackelford) Guest. He grew up in the small community, attending Marvell Public School and enjoying wrestling with his brothers and pestering his two sisters.
From a very young age, Kenneth had a strong work ethic. At the age of 15, he began working at the D&L Factory in Marianna. He also worked for Farmer's Supply and on the farm for Junious Hill. In 1980, he started farming on his own, becoming a first-generation farmer. Kenneth was known for helping out any farmers who were down on their luck; pitching in and lending a hand in any way he could.
Kenneth was a member of County Line Missionary Baptist Church in Marvell. He didn't have many hobbies, preferring to spend his time working on the farm, but he did love to spend time with his sons and grandchildren.
On December 6, 2023, Kenneth departed this life . He leaves behind to cherish his memory two sons, Kotton Guest (Annie) and Dustin Guest, both of Marvell; stepson, Michael Martin of Marvell; three grandsons, Chase Guest (Lindsay), Gage Guest and Gere Guest, all of Marvell; step granddaughter, Rachael Martin of Marvell; two great-grandchildren, Audie Lou Guest and Tori Jo Guest; three brothers, Cletis Guest of Selmer, Tennessee, Clarence Guest (Beverly) of Marvell and Newman "Bimbo" Guest (Vetta) of Mavell; a sister, Sheilda Bearden of Marvell; and many other family members and friends.
Kenneth was preceded in death by his parents; wife, Peggy Turner Guest; wife, Jane George Guest; two brothers, Ralph Cavette and Leslie Guest; and a sister, Shirley Gschwend.
A graveside service for Kenneth Guest will be held at 10:00 a.m., Friday, December 8, 2023 at Marvell Cemetery.
Pallbearers are Chase Guest, Gage Guest, Gere Guest, Coleman Storey, Randle Foran and Grant Ligon. Honorary pallbearers are A.B. Thompson, Jr., Ray Foran and Donald Cavette.
