Obituary

Kenneth Eldon Ellenburg, age 74, went to be with the Lord on April 15, 2024.  He was born September 21, 1949 in DeWitt, Arkansas, the middle child of Eldon and Pauline Ellenburg.

Growing up in DeWitt with his older sister, Doris and younger brother, Darrell, Kenny enjoyed hunting and fishing like a lot of boys his age in the Arkansas Delta.  He attended DeWitt public school and enjoyed church services with his family at Landmark Missionary Baptist Church.

On April 7, 1989 Kenny married the love of his life, Carolyn and they eventually settled in Vilonia.  The couple were married for 31 years until Carolyn sadly passed away in 2021.  They are now reunited forever in Heaven.

Kenny was a hard-working man.  He left his schooling behind at an early age and began his working career as a heavy equipment operator.

Kenny loved his family, his numerous dogs, deer hunting and catfishing in his stocked pond at his home.  He loved serving the Lord through his membership at Landmark Missionary Baptist Church in Vilonia.  A kind and funny man, he loved a good joke.  Kenny's family describe him as truly one of a kind.

He leaves behind to cherish his memory a son, Kenneth B. Ellenburg of Marianna; two daughters, Melissa Gray (Richard) of St. Charles and Virginia McKee of White Hall; seven grandchildren, Lana Pace, Blake Ellenburg, Brittany McCollum, Austin Burgess, Travis Ellenburg, Taylor, Hayley and Wyatt; six great-grandchildren; one sister, Doris Sullivan (Eugene) of White Hall; and many other family members, friends and dogs.

Preceding Kenny in death were his parents; his wife, Carolyn; brother, Darrell; and one great-grandchild.

A graveside service for Kenny Ellenburg will be held at 3 p.m., Friday, April 26, 2024 at Sunset Memorial Park in West Helena.
