Obituary

Judy Rae Shinnall, (80) of Jacksonville, Arkansas, passed away on April 12, 2024, at Baptist Health in Little Rock. She was born on February 19, 1944, in California to Frederick Kenneth and Alyce Pauline Batchelor.

Judy married her childhood sweetheart, Frank Shinnall, on April 20, 1959. They made their home in Southern California before moving briefly to Kansas. In 1977, they chose to move to Central Arkansas and settled in Jacksonville. Judy's true joy came from being a devoted wife and mother. She attended every school event as the team mom for her son's sports teams, cheered on her daughter during Friday night football games, and chaperoned numerous band events. Family was at the center of Judy's world, and her love and dedication knew no bounds. Her home was always open to her children's friends, where she delighted in hosting gatherings filled with board games, cards and laughter. Her warm and welcoming nature made her house a second home to many.

A talented craftswoman, Judy was passionate about sewing and became a skilled seamstress, creating Raggedy Ann and Andy dolls, as well as various baby dolls. She also enjoyed crocheting, painting, cross- stitch, and needlepoint. In her retirement, Judy continued to embrace her hobbies and interests, finding joy in creating beautiful crafts and spending time with her loved ones. Her legacy of love, kindness, and creativity will live on in the hearts of all who knew her.

She is survived by her son Keith Shinnall and daughter-in-law Sharon of Cabot, Arkansas, her daughter, Carrie Lynne Hall and son-in-law Bill of Tampa, Florida, nine grandchildren - Amanda, Logan, Lacey, Dorthy, Randi, Tommy, Rachael, Sawyer, and Kasey and fourteen great grandchildren, with one more on the way. Judy is also survived by her sister Alice Quinn and brother-in-law Lew of North Carolina.

Judy was preceded in death by her parents, Frederick and Alyce Batchelor, husband Frank Shinnall, daughter Wendy Kay Shinnall, grandson Jeremy Johnson, and her brother Milton Batchelor. Judy will be deeply missed and forever remembered for the light and warmth she brought into the lives of those around her.
