Joyce Loretta Whitted Darby, born on February 14, 1951 passed away peacefully on December 31, 2024.

Joyce was preceded in death by her husband, Jim Darby; her parents, Charlie and Irene Whitted; her brother, Loyd Whitted; sisters Charlene Neil and Dorothy McGaugh; her brother-in-law, Gary; two sons, James Brown Jr. and Robert Brown; her grandson, Austin Darby; and a few cherished nieces and nephews.

She is lovingly remembered by her children: Fred Brown, Charles Brown, Shawn Darby, Jason Darby (Jennifer), Shelley Harrington (Duane), Jamie Lowman (Chris), and daughter-in-law Betty Brown. Her legacy continues through her grandchildren: Erin, Justin, Ronni, Blake, Nikki, Christopher, Brianna, Ashley, Anthony, Mandy, Tanner, Raelynn, Melissa, Robert, and Hailey; her 26 great grandchildren; and two great-great-grandsons.

She also leaves behind her siblings: brothers Jack Whitted and John Whitted; sisters Margie Young, Peggy Dunigan, and Thressa Phillips; as well as a large extended family of nieces and nephews who cherished her deeply.

Joyce was a devoted mother and grandmother who found great joy in spending time with her family. She loved taking trips when she could and had a special gift for making everyone feel like family. Known affectionately as "Granny" to many outside her immediate relatives, Joyce's warmth and kindness touched countless lives. She cherished all her grandchildren more than anything else in the world.

Her memory will always be treasured by those who knew her. May the love she shared continue to bring comfort to all whose lives she touched.
