Johnny Mack
Smith
July 31, 1951 — April 12, 2021
Clarendon
The home of Grover and Maurine Smith was located in Blackton, Arkansas, when welcoming the birth of their last-born, Johnny Mack. On July 31, 1951, his life's journey began in Little Rock, and he was soon to be greeted by five siblings. Johnny received formal education in the nearby community of Clarendon.
He married Rebecca Ann Dillard and the couple chose to make their home in Clarendon after they retired. In time they were given the added joys of activities and adventures of two grandchildren, Victoria and Kimberly. Sadly, the family experienced the passing of Rebecca, on July 23, 2010. Her ashes will be buried with Johnny at his request.
With a love of the outdoors, Johnny liked taking advantage of his southern heritage. So, when time allowed, he relished the thrill of a favorite fishing hole, in his younger days he participated in many bass tournaments.
Johnny was blessed in life with the skills of welder. He began his working career welding on railroad cars in Kingsland Arkansas.. He ultimately secured a position with the General Electric Company located in Camden, from which he retired after a back injury.
On Monday, April 12, 2021, Johnny passed away at the Baptist Health Medical Center in Stuttgart.
