Jimmy Donald Flanagan Sr., 82, of Des Arc, Arkansas, passed away peacefully on the morning of July 22, 2026.Jimmy was born on September 8, 1943, to A.J. and Viril Flanagan. A lifelong farmer, he dedicated his life to the work he loved. In 1967, he founded “Flanagan Farms”, where he spent 38 years building not only a successful farming operation, but a legacy of hard work, perseverance, and commitment to his community.

     When he wasn't in the fields, Jimmy could often be found fishing, tending to his garden, or relaxing with an episode of Everybody Loves Raymond. He also proudly served on the Des Arc High School School Board from 1980 to 1985 while his children attended school, giving back to the community that meant so much to him.

     Jimmy was preceded in death by his parents, A.J. and Viril Flanagan; five sisters; three brothers; and his beloved grandson, Cache Flanagan. He is survived by his children, Jimmy Flanagan Jr. and Teresa Gomez; his grandchildren, Devin Flanagan, Derek Flanagan, and Bella Flanagan; his  great-grandchildren, Ty Flanagan, Brylee Flanagan, Emersyn Flanagan, and Avery Flanagan; as well as many other relatives and dear friends who became family through the years.

     Jimmy will be remembered for his unwavering work ethic, his love of the land, and the life he built for those he loved. His legacy will continue through the family he cherished and the generations that follow.
