Jerry Vernon Maloy (Self), of Marvell, Arkansas, passed away on June 6, 2026 at the age of 75.
Jerry was born on March 16, 1951 to Wiley Mack Self and Lillian Clarice Jackson. He grew up surrounded by family and developed a passion for music and model airplanes early in life. Jerry's love for music resonated deeply with those who knew him. Whether playing an instrument or simply enjoying melodies that spoke to him, music was an integral part of his life. Jerry also had a talent for heating and air work.
On August 17, 1974, Jerry married Patricia Darlene Grimm. Together they built a life filled with love and shared memories until her passing, January 6, 2018. Their union was blessed with three children: Tony, Tina and Tonya. Jerry cherished his role as a father and later as a grandfather.
Jerry was preceded in death by his wife, Patricia Darlene Grimm; his parents, Wiley Mack Self and Lillian Clarice Jackson; his brother, Douglas Jackson, his Son, Tony Grimm of Nashville, Tennessee and His Grandson, Jerry Lynn Ferebee. He is survived by his children, Tina Stortz of Dewitt, Arkansas; and Tonya (Jerry) Sweatt of Marvell, Arkansas. Grandchildren; Joanna (Nathan) Downing, and Jonathan Jr. (Deborah) Stortz, and William Anthony Grimm Jr. Great-Grandchildren; Jeremiah Stortz, Piper Stortz, Jayme Grimm, and Grayson Simons. Brothers; Keith Jackson, Travis Jackson, and Vince Self; and his sisters; Cheryl Tucker, Gail (Timmy) Vessell of Helena, Arkansas, Darla (Chaffin) Clark of Kentucky, Skeeter (Millard) Gentery of Kentucky, Dawn Wright of Kentucky, and Tammy (Larry) Baker of Kentucky.
Though he has departed this world, Jerry Vernon Maloy leaves behind a legacy of love, dedication to family, and the joy he found in life's simple pleasures. May his memory bring comfort to all who knew him.
A private service will be held at a later date to honor Jerry's life.
