Obituary

Jeremy Wade Self

If the woods at Big Creek could talk, they'd spin wild tales of Jeremy Wade Self, a man who lived life like he was being chased by a game warden.  Born September 24, 1977 and raised in Moro, Arkansas, Jeremy was the son of Jim Self of Stuttgart and Brenda Reeves of Brinkley.  He was the proud father of Autumn Nicole Self of Moro and Will Self of Kansas, OK, whom he loved fiercely (probably more than his favorite hunting rifle, but don't quote us on that).  He is also survived by his sister Faith Stiles of Flagler Beach, FL.

Jeremy didn't just love the outdoors - he was the outdoors.  He could out-fish, out-hunt, and out-run just about anyone.  Duck hunting, deer hunting, fishing - if it involved camo and a good story at the end, Jeremy was all in.  He went everywhere at 90 to nothing, never slowing down, always chasing the next adventure.

A wild child at heart, Jeremy had a wit as sharp as his aim, a heart bigger than the Arkansas sky, and a pair of blue eyes that could charm the socks off anyone in his path.  And let's not forget - he had the ladies wrapped around his finger.  Whether it was his mischievous grin or his undeniable charm, he could sweet talk just about anyone into just about anything.

Jeremy's passing leaves an empty deer stand, an unattended fishing pole, and a whole lot of stories we'll be telling for years to come.  So, crack open a cold one, head out to the woods, and let a duck call ring out in his honor.

Gone to soon, but never forgotten - because legends like Jeremy don't just fade away.  They live on in every sunrise over the water, every rustling tree in the woods, and every belly laugh shared around a campfire.

Happy hunting up there, buddy.  We'll catch you  on the other side.
