James Edward Welch age 88 went home to be with the Lord and savior on August 26, 2021. James Ed was born in the Griffin Community in Conway County on June 08, 1933, a son to Herbert Lee Welch and Maggie Jane (Massingill) Welch-Bradley.

James Ed was a lifelong resident of Conway County and was of the Baptist Faith. He was employed by South Conway County School District as a mechanic and was also self-employed working on motors from his home. James Ed was well known in the community for his mechanic skills. He not only enjoyed repair work but lived for the thrill of going to the dirt track to race. James Ed always made time for his family. He never passed up the chance for a bargain, going to yard sales, flea markets, and auctions with his wife Mary. His life was well lived and he will be missed greatly by those who loved him.

James Ed is preceded in death by his parents; brothers: Cleo Welch, William Bradley, Jr., Robert Bradley; and sisters: Marie (Welch) Stroud Tyler, Geneva (Welch) Johnson, Vernice Welch, Ica (Bradley) Bailey.

James Ed's survivors include his wife, Mary (Neal) Welch, of 32 wonderful years of Morrilton; son: Ray Welch of Hattieville; daughter: Rose (Welch) Chapman and husband Lonny of Alexander; two step-daughters; numerous grandchildren, great-grandchildren, and two great-great-grandchildren; along with many nieces, nephews, family, and friends.

Graveside Services will be held on Tuesday, August 31, 2021, 10:00 a.m. at Elmwood Cemetery in Morrilton. Visitation will be held one hour prior to service.
