James Richard Strayhorn

Rick Strayhorn, 63, of DeValls Bluff and formerly from Marvell received God's healing on Thursday, September 14, 2023.

He loved big and was always glad to see any old friends.  He enjoyed helping to lead singing at First Baptist Church of DeValls Bluff.

Born to Joyce and Tillman Strayhorn in Helena in June of 1960, Rick followed his job as an X-Ray/MRI tech to many cities, where his quick wit helped him make many friends who will mourn his loss.

Rick is survived by his daughters, Erin and Alli Strayhorn of Jackson, Missouri; his fiancé, Denise Del Giornio of DeValls Bluff; and his beloved band of brothers, Mike (Karen) Strayhorn of Marvell, Kenneth (JoAnn) Strayhorn of Helena-West Helena, Scott (Julie) Strahorn of Helena-West Helena, and John (Staciah) of DeWitt.  He is also survived by his many nieces and nephews, two aunts, and several cousins.

Rick was preceded in death by his parents, by who his body will be laid to rest.

Funeral services for Rick will be held at Bob Neal & Sons Brickell Funeral Home in Marvell on Monday, September 18, 2023.  The visitation will begin at 10:00 a.m. with the funeral following at 11:00 a.m.  Graveside will follow at Schaffhauser Cemetery in Marvell.
