James Harold Nowlin (69) passed away unexpectedly at his home in North Little Rock on January 6, 2024. He was the fourth born to the union of James V. and Bessie Taylor Nowlin. The family made their home in Brinkley where James received early education at Partee Elementary School. He went on to become a 1972 graduate of Brinkley High School and chose to continue his studies and graduating in 1993 from Mid America Baptist Theological Seminary in Memphis. Through the years, James ministered to several churches before becoming disabled and choosing to step away from public service to retire.

James 's greatest joys in life came from being the father of five children. In time he was given the added joys of seeing his family grow with the addition of spouses and seven grandchildren.

On October 27, 2001, James married Megan (Nicki) Parks. They made their home in different areas that included Jacksonville, Cabot, and Austin before returning to North Little Rock where they remained.

James was preceded in death by his parents, James and Bessie Nowlin.

He is survived by his wife, Nicki Parks Nowlin, children, James Matthew Nowlin and Leslie of Elkins, Arkansas, Michael Vaughn Nowlin and Ashley of Lorain, Ohio, Colin Chouinard and Destiny of Conway, Arkansas, Monica Layne Nowlin Moore and Nathan of Mascoutah, Illinois, Meredith Taylor Nowlin McIntosh and Grant of Carlisle, Arkansas, seven grandchildren, Dawn Moore, Bradley Partain, Bentley Nowlin, Eric Nowlin, Hailey Morgan, Easton McIntosh, Anna McIntosh, Rory Lehman Chouinard, Logan McClellan, sisters, Sandra Nowlin Miley and Phillip, Marsha Nowlin Helmick and Willard, Paula Nowlin Parker and Russ, brothers, Junior Maloy of Stuttgart, Jerry Maloy and JoAnn, of Brinkley.
