James David
Lovell
July 12, 1947 — January 7, 2022
Clarendon
James David Lovell was born on July 12, 1947 in Yuba City, California. As the youngest child born to the family of Jim and Lena (Muse) Lovell, he was blessed to share in the many memories of childhood along with six siblings. At some point in time the family moved to Arkansas where James received early education in Moro, and attended Clarendon Public Schools through the ninth grade.
In 1965, he met the love of his life, Sandra Aker. After a two year courtship they married in February of 1967. Over the next thirty two years they shared in the joys of becoming the parents of two daughters, Teresa Ann and Jenny Rebecca, grandparents to four grandchildren and seven great grandchildren.
During his early years James loved to play the guitar and sing. Word seemed to travel and James was called to audition in a talent show hosted in Little Rock. Like most young men growing up in the southern delta, James also had a love of the outdoors. He enjoyed the sports of fishing and deer hunting. Skilled with a cross bow, James took first place in the cross bow division in Little Rock in 2012 and first place in the Midsouth crossbow division in Jonesboro.
In his working career he farmed for Clay Schafer Farms in Hunter. However James was well known by many in the area for his generous heart and time working as a Deputy with Monroe County Sherriff's Department. After ten years of service to his community, James chose to retire from public work and enjoy time with family and friends, and mowing lawns.
On January 7th, 2022 James passed away at his home in Clarendon. He was 74 years of age. James was preceded in death by his parents; Jim and Lena Lovell, and siblings; Don Lovell, Olivia James, Gaynell Leachman Connie Taylor, Linda Guedry and Martha Jean Lovell.
