James Allen
Lindley
May 2, 1947 — October 24, 2023
Conway
James Allen Lindley, (76), of Conway, Arkansas, left this world to go to his eternal home in Heaven on October 24, 2023. Allen was born to Jim and Sarah Lindley, on May 2nd, 1947, in Clarendon, Arkansas. He was part of a large family who loved and cared for anyone in need. He was active in Clarendon High School athletics, playing football and basketball. Later Allen found his love for working with people in the business of sales. He owned the Lindley Lumber Co, where many enjoyed coffee, good fellowship, and a few jokes too. He also served his community as a Volunteer Fireman for 22 years with the Clarendon Fire department and was active in the Jaycees. In most recent years, he was a member of Faulkner County Master Gardeners where he was awarded the 2022 Arkansas State Rookie of the Year.
Allen is survived by his wife Michele and two children, Rob (Audra) Lindley of Rogers, and Lesli (Shawn) Fason of Conway. Three grandchildren; Taylor (Riley) Lindley, Tryson (Natalie) Lindley and Rebekah Fason. Five great grandchildren; Bradley, Oliver, August, and Emmons Lindley and one additional great grandbaby on the way. He is also survived by brothers, sisters, and sisters-in-laws; Willie Mae (Ray) Pollnow, Johnny Lindley, Clara (Allen) Medford, Bonnie (Joe) Griggs, Mike (Anita) Lindley, Jackie (Kenny) Huguenard, and Kim (Rob) Williams. Allen was preceded in death by his parents Jim and Sarah Lindley and brothers, Floyd and Donnie Lindley.
Most people know Allen for his humor and always adding life to the party. Rather you were a stranger in the mall, a customer in his hardware store, or a close friend/family, Allen was determined to make you feel welcome and likely insistent for you to join the family for dinner. It was evident that Allen had a heart of gold. This kind heart is a testament to his ultimate love for his Savior, as he was a member of Conway 2nd Baptist church.
The family would like to thank all the friends and family who reached out during these past few months with prayers, food, or visits to chat. We would also like to thank Gentiva Hospice and Sharmaine, our caregiver with HomeWell Care Services.
An open visitation to honor Allen's life will be held at Rosewood Cremation and Funeral, 438 U.S Hwy 64, Conway, Arkansas, 72032 on Friday, October 27, 2023, between 10:00-12:00. The Graveside Service will follow at the Shady Grove Cemetery, Clarendon, Arkansas, at 3:00 pm. All who knew Allen are invited to join in celebrating his remarkable life.
