James "Wayne" Hawley, 81, of North Little Rock, formally of Sherwood, was born October 13, 1942 in Searcy, AR, and peacefully passed away on October 25, 2023 at home.  He was the only child of James Oscar and Lula Harris Hawley and a 1960 graduate of Griffithville High School.

He married Wanda Livesay (daughter of James McKinney and Kaleta Evelyn Keathley Livesay) in 1961, they then moved to North Little Rock later building a home in Sherwood and had two sons.  James was employed at USF&G Insurance in data processing, the election commission and the VA until his retirement.

He loved the outdoors, spending time hunting and fishing.  He also enjoyed going to auctions, yard sales, visiting Griffithville and talking about his grandchildren.  Of note, James wouldn't pass up a good meal.

Survivors include:  sons, Jason Hawley of Odessa, TX; Brad (Rebecca) Hawley of North Little Rock; grandchildren: Austin (Alexis) of Pelahatchie, MS; Justin Hawley of Griffithville; Fisher Hawley of Auburn, AL; great-grandchildren: Gabbi, Hadley and Hayden Hawley and a special friend, Linda Newmister of Sherwood. He was proceeded in death by his wife and parents.
