James Lawrence English, age 67, passed away at his home in the Crossroads Community at Hickory Plains on January 28, 2026. Born on October 25, 1958, in Hickory Plains, he was the cherished son of his late mother, Lucille Capps English, and father, Lawrence English.  James attended school at Des Arc Schools and spent over a decade working for MKT of Lonoke.

A man of simple pleasures, James had a lifelong love for the great outdoors and the companionship of animals. He cultivated a particular fondness for his cattle and dogs, whose company he cherished and whose care he undertook with great affection and responsibility. James also enjoyed the thrill of coon hunting, an activity that allowed him to fully embrace his love for nature and his adventurous spirit.

James was father to two sons, Jerrod Aron English of Des Arc and Justin James English of Hamilton, OH, and four daughters, Brooke Erin English of Beebe, Fallon Beth English Henry of Cave Springs, Mindy English Serving of Jacksonville, and Promise Nichole English of Paragould. He is also survived by his sister, Judy Robinson. James was a proud grandfather and great-grandfather to a host of grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

James was preceded in death by his parents, Lucille Capps English and Lawrence English, and his sister, Rhonda Spencer.

James's legacy is one of simplicity, and devotion. His memory will forever be etched in the hearts of those who loved him. His spirit will live on in the gentle mooing of his cattle, the playful barks of his dogs, and the cherished memories of those fortunate enough to have shared in his journey. Rest in peace, James Lawrence English.
