James Roy Day was born in Brownsville, Texas on October 01, 1965. James was a son to Murel Wayne and Walcie Mae (George) Day and was one of four children. James was called home by his Lord and Savior on Saturday, February 12, 2022 at the age of 56.

James was a resident of Perry County for nearly 30 years and was a member of the Oppelo Church of Christ. He was active in volunteer law enforcement in his younger years.  He was a truck driver and equipment operator for C & P Construction. James enjoyed spending time outdoors hunting and fishing. In his leisure time he enjoyed watching old school westerns, and spending time with his Grandkids. The most important part of James's life was his family. James was blessed with 36 wonderful years of marriage to his late wife, Elaine Day. He treasured the time he spent with his family. James will be missed fiercely by those who knew and loved him.

James is preceded in death by his parents; Murel and Walcie Day; wife: Alfreda Elaine Day; sister: Belinda Day; and sister-in-law: Susan Day.

James is survived by his son: Dustin Cossey of Vilonia, Arkansas; daughters: Almond Robinson (Kevin) of Morrilton, Arkansas, Jennifer Day (Sean) of Morrilton, Arkansas; brother: Lindle Day of Huntington, Tennessee; sister: Murelena Reece of Dardanelle, Arkansas: 6 grandchildren; Abby, Madison, Hunter, James, Jasmine, & Bree-Ann; and a host of many other extended family members and friends.

Services for James will be listed as follows: Visitation: Thursday, February 17, 2022, 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. at Bob Neal and Sons Chapel in Morrilton, Arkansas. Funeral Service: Friday, February 18, 2022, 2:00 p.m. at Oppelo Church of Christ in Oppelo, Arkansas with Jason Almond officiating. Pallbearers are James's nephews. Interment will follow at Liberty Cemetery in Adona, Arkansas.
